Wednesday 7th February

This morning the Boers commenced shelling with a new gun from Kamfersdam, the shell being 100 pounder, one dropping in the Buffalo Club in Southey Street, doing considerable damage, killing one of Bradley's horses which was standing at the Farrier's opposite.   In the afternoon one fell through O'Callaghan's store wrecking the office and injuring 2 clerks in place, they had to be taken to hospital.
