Tuesday 14th November

The Boers commenced shelling again about 1 o'clock noon doing a little more damage so far as buildings are concerned, one shell dropping on the footpath opposite Backley Windsor, without doing the least damage, another fell in St Cyprian's Church doing a little damage & another in St Cyprian's Old School house, breaking all the windows, crockery.   Miss Paddon's groom lives in the house & his little girl was lying in bed when the shell dropped & she came off without a scratch, another falling in Mrs Brunswick office & one at Kenwood Corner, a piece of this shell came over the roof at the back of our store & fell in the road opposite the store & I picked it up.
