Saturday 25th November
Our men went out about 4 o'clock this morning in the direction of the Lazaretto & Otto's Kopje. We could hear that some heavy fighting was going on. This sortie came off successful, our side capturing 33 Boer prisoners beside wounded. I saw the prisoners being marched down to the Front & they looked an awfully poor miserable crowd, half starved. The loss on our side unfortunately was 6 killed & 29 wounded principally Cape police and Kbly Light Horse.
